1 Σεπ 2021 · As of Sept. 1, 2021, permitless concealed and open carry is legal for anyone at least 21 years old who is not prohibited from lawfully possessing a handgun under federal law or Texas state law. The following individuals are prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm under Texas state law:

Arkansas is a “gun-friendly” state compared to other U.S. states and operates under a “shall-issue, permitless carry system.”
The following rules apply to traveling with a firearm in Arkansas: As long as the person is not otherwise prohibited from carrying firearms, they are legally allowed to carry in a vehicle but the firearm should be locked safely in a compartment or a storage box.
Arkansans with concealed handgun licenses issued by their home state now can legally carry concealed handguns in Texas, and vice versa.
