This DTC may be resolved by reprogramming the ECM with the revised calibration. Follow the diagnostic for this DTC. If no mechanical fault can be found during normal diagnosis, follow the service procedure in this bulletin to correct the concern.

7 Ιαν 2023 · What Does the P0172 Code Mean? The P0172 DTC means that the car’s computer has determined that the fuel system is running too rich. The alert was set off on Bank 1. A rich-running system means that there’s either too much fuel or a lack of oxygen in the air-fuel mixture. Bank 1 indicates it’s located on the side that contains the #1 cylinder.
25 Ιουν 2023 · The P0172 code indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a rich air-fuel mixture in the engine's bank 1. The rich mixture means that there is more fuel than needed and the air/fuel ratio is too rich.
How Can You Fix The P0172 Code? Possible solutions include: Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary; Clean the MAF sensor. Consult your service manual for it’s location if you need help. I find it’s best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner.
