The VLB offers low-interest loans to Veterans and Military Members in Texas for land, home, and home improvement purposes. Learn more about the eligibility, terms, and benefits of each loan program.

The VLB Veterans Land Loan Program is the only one of its kind in the nation, giving Texas Veterans and Military Members the opportunity to borrow up to $150,000 to purchase land at competitive interest rates while typically requiring a minimum five percent down payment for tracts of one acre or more.
Spurred by returning World War II veterans, the Legislature established the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) in 1946 to continue this tradition by providing Texas veterans with long-term, low-interest land loans. Today, the VLB oversees five veterans programs.
The VLB offers land, home and home improvement loans; nine long-term care homes; four Texas State Veterans Cemeteries; the Voices of Veterans Oral History Program and the VLB Call Center. Visit vlb.texas.gov and find out how the VLB can serve you.
