The purpose of the Society shall be to secure fuller public recognition of the art of poetry, to encourage the writing of poetry by Texans, and to kindle a finer and more intelligent appreciation of poetry, especially the work of living poets who interpret the spirit and heritage of Texas.
Copies of the 2022 Texas Poetry Calendar are available here. Submissions for the Texas Poetry Calendar open annually on December 1 and close at midnight CST on February 20 of the following year. We only take submissions through Submittable.

Poetry Society of Texas Summer Conference 2023 In preparation for our Summer Conference which will likely take place in the latter half of July, the Board is seeking volunteers to help with the following categories: • Zoom meetings in local chapters • Zoom general meeting for the keynote speaker • Food • Registration
We will end the conference with a short Magic Lantern Show (with a historic poem!) presented by Mark and eth Ayers. ookroom: All attendees and speakers may place their books for sale in the bookroom.
