This resource has been provided to assist educators with delivering the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for middle school Texas History. This content module may be utilized as a tool to help supplement instruction. It is not intended to be a complete unit of study.
This unit is a three-week study of the events of the Texas Revolution. Suggested pacing minutes are based on the average time it takes a class to complete each lesson; however, as the educator, use your best judgment based on the average pace of your class learning styles.
The student will examine the causes that lead to the Texas Revolution through a teacher guided discussion using a PowerPoint presentation.

This lap book is designed to help students summarize and organize content for the Texas Revolution. The assembly of the lap book should take about 15 minutes. You can construct the lap book at the beginning of the unit or have the students write on the graphic organizers and glue it all together at the end.
