This page provides testing information related to obtaining a Texas educator certificate. Texas law requires that educators pass appropriate tests to become certified. The appropriate examination(s) required for certification are specified in the Texas Administrative Code, §230.21(e) .
For certificates and/or tests set to expire, candidates must meet the deadlines to complete requirements such as testing, coursework, and internships/student teaching and must apply and be recommended by their educator preparation program for certification by posted deadline.
Program policies (outside source) provide rules and procedures related to testing, registration, and score reporting. Preparation materials (outside source) provide test information, sample questions, and general test-taking strategies.
29 Απρ 2024 · Overview. Each certification program has details with prerequisites, and completion of coursework prior to granting test approval. A passing practice test with a minimum score of 240 or 80%, applying for test approval, and deadlines for completing the exams.
Required Tests for Texas Teachers. Successfully passing the TExES exam is an important step in obtaining your teaching license. A helpful table is available on the TExES website under the Educator Testing tab that shows the testing requirements for every grade/subject.
23 Αυγ 2024 · Students seeking teacher certification in Texas must pass the following Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES) exams: Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (PPR) test for grades EC-12. Content specialization at the grade level for the certification sought (e.g., 4-8 or EC-6 Core Subjects, 7-12 Mathematics, etc.)
The TExES or The Texas Examinations of Educator Standards program was developed by the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 230.21 ruling that all Texas educators should be required to pass comprehensive exams testing their content and professional knowledge as an entry level educator.
