"Solitary Man" is a song written by American musician Neil Diamond, who recorded the song for Bang Records in late January 1966. It has since been covered many times, notably by T. G. Sheppard, Gianni Morandi, Chris Isaak, Johnny Cash and HIM.
Several subsequent releases during 1975–77 made the top 10 like "Motels and Memories" and "Show Me a Man". In 1977, Sheppard signed with Warner Bros. Records. Starting with that summer's "When Can We Do This Again", he had a series of fifteen consecutive top 10 releases, including 10 No. 1 songs.
T.G. Sheppard was born on 20 July 1944 in Humboldt, Tennessee, USA. He is an actor, known for Tough Enough (1983), Coast to Coast (1980) and Welcome to Paradise (2007).
