28 Ιαν 2001 · You might want to drain out a couple quarts of fluid and raise the rear of the car higher than the front so the fluid won't drain out the tailshaft while your working back there. The new seal will have a sealant on it so all you have to do is tap it in place.
21 Μαρ 2019 · I solved it by replacing the yoke with a sealed yoke (no weep hole). At this point I have a leak from the rear tailshaft housing seal. I have replaced it twice, and have replaced the tailshaft sleeve 1 time, but I still have the leak.

The Chevy 235 family of engines use a two piece rope seal for the rear main. The aftermarket does supply a neoprene replacement but results seem to be mixed on the longevity and effectiveness of it.
7 Μαρ 2003 · Here's a couple more common TH350 leak spots besides the front and rear main seals and the pan gasket. 1. Dipstick tube. They use either an Oring or a cup shaped seal to seal the dipstick tube to the transmission.
17 Μαΐ 2010 · Seal wears the shaft, replace both. Common as dirt on TH 350. I use the defective shafts for pin-punches. Front pump/torque converter seal. Worth repeating: Modulator O-ring. Sometimes they don't seem to leak unless the engine is off and parked for awhile.
