Though the movie was entirely fictional, the themes I saw in the film reminded me of real events that have happened in the world, such as Chernobyl and DuPoint poisoning. It hit me hard emotionally for that reason.
thinkinghorror. •. "The Bay" has come the closest, I think, to cracking the found footage code. The existence of the footage makes total sense (suppressed video evidence of an ecological disaster) and its assembly also makes sense (a Wikileaks-like exposure of the conspiracy).
