Just weeks after the beloved local all-ages music venue Cafe Colonial (3520 Stockton Blvd.) hosted its final show, new ownership has stepped in to take over the lease of the building in order to keep the space alive, and they’re familiar faces to the Sacramento music community.
The Blue Lamp is hosting its last event on Saturday, Dec. 21: the Bon Voyage Blue Lamp party. For a little more than six years, Gabi and Ben Garcia have acted as a cornerstone of Sacramento’s independent music landscape with their all-inclusive venue, the Blue Lamp, which they acquired in 2013.
16 Δεκ 2019 · The venue on Alhambra Boulevard in East Sacramento has hosted its last concert and will close after a Dec. 21 “Bon Voyage” going-away party, according to Blue Lamp’s social media pages.
26 Οκτ 2018 · Get out and support the heck out of one of Sacramento’s best live music venues and bars! Blue Lamp will be celebrating their fifth year anniversary under the Garcia ownership, doing what they do best: throwing amazing shows!
13 Ιαν 2014 · On Oct. 31, 2013, longtime owners and brothers James and Ed Stoner sold Blue Lamp to Gabriell and Ben Garcia. Gabi has spent years managing and bartending just down the street at Limelight and Ben spent years singing in Sacto hardcore band Hoods and playing in other groups.
