The Blue : r/jasonisbell. I didn't know about this song until a couple months ago, but it's by far one of my favorites of his. The drum intro is unlike anything I've ever heard in a Jason song, so tasteful and experimental. The opening lyrics along with all the lyrics are some of my favorite as well.
The Blue is my favorite Isbell song, and that line just gets me. "I step into a shop to buy a postcard for a girl." Beautiful melody here and just such a pretty image.
