Gene Siskel is our go-to movie theater in Chicago. They show a great variety of new indie films that have made their way along the film festival circuit and also playing retrospectives. Thematically, they do a great job grouping their film series.
Gene Siskel Film Center is a fantastic venue to see a film, but don't go expecting to see the likes of Harry Potter, Tron, or anything with vampires; this venue showcases indie and foreign films, and documentaries.
One of the largest and most comprehensive programs of its kind in the country, the Gene Siskel Film Center presents premieres of new American and foreign films, revivals of classics, retrospectives, independent productions, and festivals of international scope. Open to the public seven days a week.
