The lanzones is one of the Philippines' most beloved fruits, growing in clusters with a thin skin and succulent flesh. While young fruits are sour and bitter, ripe lanzones are very sweet. According to legend, the image of the Virgin Mary disappeared from a church in Paete, Laguna, where search parties looked for it.
