A Guaraní woman from the early-colonial era, known as Juliana, is regarded as one of the most prominent female figures in the history of Paraguay. [ 12 ] [ 13 ] [ 14 ] [ 15 ] She is famous for killing her Spaniard master or husband between 1539 and 1542 and inciting other Indigenous women to do the same.
