He still had his humanity that was restored in full at the end of the film. I love the scene where he's upset at the news with everything they're saying about him, so he calls his mom and asks questions about his dad. I'm not trying to convince you to like the movie btw, that's totally your opinion. I just wanted to present my perspective.
