15 Αυγ 2024 · Winners and finalists receive a year subscription to Mississippi Review and two copies of the issue in which their work appears. Fiction and nonfiction entries should be 1,000 - 8,000 words. Poetry entries should be 3 - 5 poems totaling 10 pages or less.
11 Δεκ 2023 · Winners and finalists will make up next summer's print issue of the national literary magazine Mississippi Review. Contest is open to all writers in English except current or former students or employees of The University of Southern Mississippi.
Simultaneous submissions are welcomed and encouraged as long as you notify us immediately of acceptance elsewhere. Contest opens August 15, 2024 , and the deadline is January 1, 2025 . Winners and finalists will be announced in March and publication is scheduled for June next year.
Three prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Mississippi Review are given annually for a single poem, a short story, and an essay. Current or former University of Southern Mississippi students are ineligible.
