The Other Crusades. The Second Crusade saw the movement’s ambit widen to the Iberian and Baltic crusades. It used to be supposed that the Second Crusade was waylaid on its way to Lisbon, but it is now thought that the fleet was intending to campaign in Portugal. Thus, they successfully laid siege to Lisbon in 1147.
