Step 1: Install as you normally would. Pick a place (either C drive, or a data drive of another name), and install the game there. The only way of getting it legally on windows would be to try and find second hand discs on ebay or something, but there are a lot of scammers, and even if you find a legit copy, there's no guarantee it would even work - the discs tend to have issues that make them difficult to install on windows 10.
I have the four disc-version of Sims 2 and been trying to download it for months, but installation never made it past 23%. I tried copying all the content into separate folders ("Disc #") and ran as the administrator, but nothing worked.
