I love the sims 2 animations, and I would adore a mod which adds older animations. Unfortunately, the file format for animations in TS2 was never fully decoded. The only way to get sims 2 animations for sims 4 is to hope EA reused them in Sims 3, which you can convert just fine.
Sims 2 probably had the most idle animations, Sims 3 definitely cut way back on them, and 4... Well...4 seems to have a way you can add your own animations for everything, but nobody seems to want to take the time.
To start, you'll need to download Andrew's Pose Player and SCUMBUMBO's Teleport Any Sim mod. Andrew's Pose Player will allow pose packs or animations to activate in-game, and SCUMBUMBO's Teleport Any Sim mod will allow you to teleport or "summon" any Sim wherever you want to place them!

7 Νοε 2023 · Download & install the Pose Player Mod into your Mods Folder. By default the mod will come preloaded with poses and animations from the vanilla game so you can get started right away if you don’t want to add more poses to your game just yet!
Pose Player. Updated for the Infants patch March 19, 2023. This is a mod that will add the option to play poses and animations in game. It adds an interaction to your sims called Pose By Name and Pose By Pack. Just click on your sim like you would to do anything else.
