Unfortunately, the file format for animations in TS2 was never fully decoded. The only way to get sims 2 animations for sims 4 is to hope EA reused them in Sims 3, which you can convert just fine.
It contains all the dance animations from the base game (so no kooky dances from Nightlife) and can be used by Teens through to Elders. The object is a painting (with the Ooh La La poster on it, teehee) and can be found under Hobbies, Misc.

4 Φεβ 2022 · The SFW version wasn't playing the correct animation for some of the dances that has now been fixed. simply delete the old hack and import file and download this one. I'm sorry about that. The posebox is named "Sims 2 Dance Animation Box LILDIVA3229" in game and can be found in Hobbies>Miscellaneous.

Yes,after you have placed the box down from buy mode, click whichever sim(s) you want to dance and select a dance animation. Yes, the box has to be present to start/stop a dance.
