The Sky Crawlers is based on a Japanese novel series by Hiroshi Mori. First published by Chuōkōron-shinsha in June 2001 and spanning five books, it follows the journeys and tribulations of a group of young fighter pilots involved in dogfight warfare, and is set during an alternate historical period.
8 Αυγ 2024 · To begin with, The Sky Crawlers is about immortal pilots flying for a fictional company based in Europe, they are called “Kildren”. I must also add that The Sky Crawlers is actually an adaptation of a novel from the same name, and chronologically wise it is the last book for the series despite being the first book.
The Sky Crawlers is lifeaffirming in its perspective of viewing repetitious mundanity as lifegiving and prompts us to live as though we have escaped death rather than race toward it. Part of my ranking of Mamoru Oshii. 65 /100. 4 out of 9 users liked this review.
2 Αυγ 2008 · Overview. Youngsters called Kildren, who are destined to live eternally in their adolescence. The Kildren are conscious that every day could be the last, because they fight a war as entertainment, organized and operated by adults.
