Following Amge's 18th birthday on 16 December 2011, she was officially declared the world's shortest living woman by Guinness World Records with a height of 62.8 centimetres (2 ft 3⁄4 in). [7][8] Her restricted height is due to a genetic disorder called primordial dwarfism. [9][1]
On 16 December 2011, she turned 18 – at which point she took the title of shortest living woman (mobile). Jyoti was measured at 62.8 cm (2 ft 0.7 in) tall. She had grown a bit since she was 15 but was still short enough to claim the record.
In 2011, standing at 62.8 centimetres (2 ft 3⁄4 in), she was re-measured and announced as the shortest living woman. Jyoti's record and talents have allowed her to travel the world, meet fellow record holders and pursue a flourishing acting career, becoming the shortest actress ever.
On 16 December 2011, she was named the World’s Shortest Woman by the Guinness World Records in a ceremony at her home in Nagpur. She was measured by orthopaedic consultant Dr Manoj Pahukar at the Wockhardt Superspeciality Hospital in Nagpur, along with Gunniess World Records adjudicator Rob Molloy.

She became a part of the GWR family in 2009, when she was confirmed as the world’s shortest teenager living (female) at 61.95 cm (2 ft).
