Isaiah 50 provides a profound message of courage, obedience, and ultimate trust in God's salvation. As exemplified by the Servant, one can endure sufferings and hardships by relying on God's unending help.

This week’s text, however, emphasizes particular nuances to the more general theme, namely the cost of being faithful to the LORD’s calling and God’s vindication of the servant’s obedience.

God is “holy, holy, holy” (Isaiah 6:3), and therefore He cannot allow sin to go unpunished (Isaiah 1:2; 2:11-20; 5:30; 34:1-2; 42:25).
