South Carolina 3rd Grade Math 2022-2023 Pacing Guide. Note: The South Carolina College- and Career-Ready (SCCCR) Mathematical Process Standards describe the varieties of expertise that mathematics educators should seek to develop in their students.
• In grades 3–5, the math test is administered in one session in one day. In grades 6–8, the math test is divided into a “calculator” section and a “no calculator” section, both to be administered in one day.
Key Concept: Number Sense and Base Ten. The student will: 3.NSBT.1 Use place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100. 3.NSBT.2 Add and subtract whole numbers fluently to 1,000 using knowledge of place value and properties of operations.
The student will demonstrate through the mathematical processes an understanding of the representation of whole numbers and fractional parts; the addition and subtraction of whole numbers; accurate, efficient, and generalizable methods of multiplying whol.
