This is the third Sunday after Pentecost. It is also the Summer Solstice, or the first day of summer. And, of course, it is Father’s Day.
Third Sunday after Pentecost, Year A What incredible, almost impossible-to-believe event has happened in your community? What stretched your understanding of God at work in the world?
Psalm: Psalm 77:1-2, 11-20. 1 I will cry aloud to God; * I will cry aloud, and he will hear me. 2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; * my hands were stretched out by night and did not tire; I refused to be comforted. 11 I will remember the works of the Lord, * and call to mind your wonders of old time.

Third Sunday after Pentecost. Proper 5. The Collect: O God, from whom all good proceeds: Grant that by your inspiration we may think those things that are right, and by your merciful guiding may do them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
The Sunday immediately after Pentecost is often called Trinity Sunday. The next one is called the " 2nd Sunday after Pentecost ", One week later is the " 3rd Sunday after Pentecost ", etc. This is a simple approach to a season when the church doesn't have any major feasts.
