14 Ιουν 2023 · Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson (January 21, 1824 – May 10, 1863) was a Virginian teacher and soldier. He became a famous Confederate general during the American Civil War as a corps commander in the Army of Northern Virginia under General Robert E. Lee.
Before becoming the renowned Confederate general known as "Stonewall," Thomas J. Jackson taught natural and experimental philosophy (akin to modern physics) and artillery at VMI for ten years. The "Scale of Daily Merit" that a student could score ranged from a high of 3 ("Thorough") to 0 ("Complete Failure").
