Thorgel is the solution to the master cryptic clue: A dwarf, approaching death, but very much in the light. One can easily get to him by going to the Abyss, going through the Death Rift, and then exiting through the portal. Requires almost full completion of Mourning's End Part II.
The Death Altar. After you go through the final door, talk to the dwarf Thorgel. You will ask each other how you got to the altar, and he will reveal there is a passage from the Underground Pass created by him and his companions.
The Death Altar is a runic altar upon which death runes are crafted from pure essence, providing 10 Runecraft experience per essence imbued. Level 65 Runecraft and completion of the quest Mourning's End Part II is required to craft death runes.
22 Φεβ 2011 · He will give you a list of 50 items to acquire in exchange for a free death talisman, should you not already have one. Once you have a talisman enter the death altar. Inside, use the new crystal that Arianwyn made for you on the altar to charge it.
Take your final load of items to Thorgel and he will reward you with a death talisman. Use the talisman on the ruins beside you and you will be transported into the death altar which is full of non aggressive Ghosts (Level-19) .
I'm trying to complete the task to craft death runes, and wanted to give thorgel the items to trade for a death talisman, but he isn't in the temple of light. Just wondering if this is intentional?
