The company took £1.99 and then £70 from my mum's account as payment for a subscription to a 'rewards club' she never asked for. When I contacted Easylife to find out why, I was told that she agreed to a 'rewards club' subscription during a previous phone conversation.
3 Αυγ 2021 · UPDATE - The name of the club membership that Easylife 'kindly' signed my Mum up to was, according to the Easylife call centre, 'My Top Rewards'. I can confirm that after my call the full amount taken from my Mum's credit card of £69.50 was credited back to her card within 3 working days.
14 Μαρ 2005 · A few months later we discovered a series of unexpected withdraws on the bank statements for quite substantial sums in favour of a "Rewards Club". Not having knowingly authorised such payments or joined any such club (that we were aware of) we queried the items with the bank.
