14 Φεβ 2021 · Thrips are small, slender insects that suck the juices out of the leaves, stems, buds and flowers. They are generally under a quarter-inch in length when they are adults. Common colours for the adults are brown, black or yellow and when in the larvae stage, they are a yellow, greenish colour .
Yellowing on plant leaves can be caused by lots of things from underfeeding to overwateirng. However, here you can see three immature thrips which are the likely cause. The insects can also weaken plants and create areas for plant viruses to invade.

Heavily infested plants will show yellow and brown, almost stippled patches in an irregular pattern, and new growth can look stunted, contorted, or deformed. You may also see sooty black spots along leaves or stems. This is thrips fecal matter, which can also be a vector for disease.
Plants are frequently damaged by thrips, which can leave behind subtle but noticeable signs of their presence. These are the primary indicators to be aware of: Stippling and Silvering: Thrips obtain nourishment by piercing plant tissues and extracting the contents of the cells.
Thrips can crawl and hop, but can only fly a short distance, perhaps from leaf to leaf. With a strong magnifying glass, you may be able to see dark slivers with feathery wings on the biggest thrips.
