The toxic effects of titanium dioxide nanoparticles on plasma glucose metabolism are more severe in developing mice than in adult mice. Environ. Toxicol. 2020;35:443–456. doi: 10.1002/tox.22880.
1 Νοε 2023 · In this review, we examine the toxicological profile of both titanium dioxide nanoparticles and pigmentary TiO 2. This review aims to provide reliable information on titanium dioxide toxicity for public and private stakeholders to use in risk assessments.
13 Απρ 2019 · A number of studies revealed that after inhalation or oral exposure, NPs accumulate in, among other places, the lungs, alimentary tract, liver, heart, spleen, kidneys and cardiac muscle. In addition, they disturb glucose and lipid homeostasis in mice and rats.
26 Ιαν 2021 · Several studies have shown that TiO 2 NPs accumulated after oral exposure or inhalation in the alimentary canal, lungs, heart, liver, spleen, cardiac muscle, and kidneys. Additionally, in mice and rats, they disturb glucose and lipid homeostasis.
The extent and type of cell damage strongly depend on chemical and physical characteristics of TiO2-NPs, including size, crystal structure and photo-activation. In this mini-review, we would like to discuss the latest findings on the adverse effects and on potential human health risks induced by TiO2-NPs exposure.
10 Σεπ 2021 · In this study, different TiO 2 NPs exposure modes are discussed, and their toxicity mechanisms—evaluated in various in vitro and in vivo studies—are briefly described, considering the molecular interactions with human health and the environment.
Moreover, in the present study, some recent advances accomplished on the pharmaceutical applications of TiO 2 nanostructures, as well as its toxicity and biocompatibility, are presented. Keywords: titanium dioxide nanomaterial, drug release, antibacterial, implants, biosensors, nanotoxicity.
