Rubbing alcohol on a rag — you don’t need to put much alcohol on the rag — and rub a small area at a time. (Do this outside because the alcohol fumes can be tedious.) Then use a narrow putty knife (like 1 inch wide) to scrape the surface.
There are ways to attempt to soften it, which is what those caulk removing sprays will do at best, but the only way to actually get it out is to scrape it out. If the caulk used is not 100% silicone, it might be slightly easier at least.

5 Οκτ 2024 · To remove silicon caulking, first turn on a hairdryer to the lowest setting, and place the nozzle against the caulk for 30 to 40 seconds. Once the caulk appears softer, score it every 2 inches with a utility knife or razor. Then, peel each section of caulk back with pliers to remove it.

Caulk remover recommendations. I need to remove the old caulking (no idea how old it is- definitely 8+ years) in our shower tub combo.
