18 Οκτ 2024 · Titration of a medicine means slowly increasing the dose of a medicine by very small amounts over days, weeks, or even months, to find the right dose that is effective for you. This allows your doctor to see how your body reacts to the medicine without giving you excessive side effects.
For those patients who do not require an immediate response (hypertension, NIDDM, osteoarthritis, hyperlipidemia), start with a dose that is 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended starting dose in the CPS. Then titrate the daily dose every two to four weeks (if this is a useful interval) to the desired effect.
