28 Οκτ 2019 · Athens City Center: Transportation to and from the Port of Piraeus. By Metro: You can easily reach the Piraeus port via the metro from the city center of Athens (green and blue line). The metro ticket costs €1.40 and is valid for 90 minutes. The ride to Piraeus from Omonia lasts around 30 minutes.
Line 1 (green): The major stations on line 1 are Piraeus (the city’s main port), Peace and Friendship Stadium, Karaiskakis Stadium, home to Olympiacos soccer team, and Omonia and Monastiraki. Line 2 (red): This line connects Athens railway station with Omonia Square, Syntagma Square and the Acropolis.
The fastest means of getting around Athens is the Metro. The Athens Metro system consists of 3 lines and connects to the tram, bus routes and suburban railway. The Metro runs daily from 5 am to midnight. Lines 2 and 3 operate until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays. At peak hours, trains run every 5-6 minutes.
