Good morning from Athens. We would like to inform you that the port of Piraeus is about 20 minutes driving from our hotel. The cost for a taxi is about 20 euros. There is also connection by train. If you choose to take the train, you will take the green line and you will disembark at Thisio station from there the hotel is about 3 minutes walk.
Line 1 (overground train) runs from the port of Piraeus and meets Athens Metro line 3 at Monastiraki Station, which takes you to Syntagma Square. By Bus Bus 040 runs from Piraeus to Syntagma Square 24 hours a day.
Line 1 (green): The major stations on line 1 are Piraeus (the city’s main port), Peace and Friendship Stadium, Karaiskakis Stadium, home to Olympiacos soccer team, and Omonia and Monastiraki. Line 2 (red): This line connects Athens railway station with Omonia Square, Syntagma Square and the Acropolis.
While there is no direct bus to get to Athens from Piraeus Port, you can find a bus stop after a 10-minute walk. You can either take bus 49 to Omonia (46-minute ride) or bus 40 to Syntagma (40-minute ride). Whichever you choose, one-way tickets cost €2.00. The metro ticket costs €1.40 and is valid for 90 minutes. The ride to Piraeus from Omonia lasts around 30 minutes.
