Benjamin B. Ball, better known as Benny, is a character in Top Cat. He is a member of the gang. Benny is a rather short and chubby cat with blue fur and a cream-colored muzzle that, unlike the rest of the gang, takes up most of his face. The hollows of his ears, like Spook, are portrayed.
Top Cat was created as a parody of The Phil Silvers Show (1955–59), a successful military comedy whose lead character (Sergeant Bilko, played by Silvers) was a fast-talking con artist. [1] Hanna-Barbera sold the cartoon to ABC based on a drawing of Top Cat. Arnold Stang's vocal characterization of the main character was originally based on an impression of Phil Silvers's voice.
The central character, Top Cat — called T.C. by close friends, "pro-vid-ing it's with dignity" as the lyrics of the theme song say — is the leader of a gang of New York City alley cats which includes Fancy-Fancy, Spook, Benny the Ball, Brain, and Choo-Choo.
Benny the Ball is an anthropomorphic cat and a main character in the Top Cat animated television series. He is known for being Top Cat 's best friend and right-hand man, and is the youngest member of his gang. His voice was originated by Maurice Gosfield.
Benjamin "Benny" Ball, known to most as Benny the Ball, is the deuteragonist in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Top Cat and the movie. He was originally voiced by Maurice Gosfield in Top Cat and by Avery Schreiber in the 1988 film Top Cat and the Beverly Hills Cats.
Benjamin " Benny " T. Ball is TC's right-hand man; he is a short, innocent, chubby, naive and cute blue-colored cat with a white jacket, which fastens with a single button at his neck. Unlike the other cats, his eyes are shown as little black pupils, a characteristic similar to Barney Rubble.
