Symptoms and signs of hypernatremia include lethargy, restlessness, hyperreflexia, spasticity, hyperthermia, and seizures. Skin texture may be doughy rather than diminished. Intracranial hemorrhage, venous sinus thrombosis, and acute renal tubular necrosis are major complications of hypernatremia.
