My experience (particularly in relation to the advertising program that was pushed upon me via multiple phone calls after initially creating my business profile) felt like a scam, and Yelp’s subsequent lack of communication makes me feel like I was ‘scammed’.
The issue is, there are currently 13 "unrecommended" reviews which are ALL five star reviews! If they were able to be seen, I would have 20 five star reviews and only 4 negative reviews. Yelp's algorithm automatically removes any review which is posted by a user who is deemed too inactive to be credible.
The crux of Yelp’s remaining arguments center around the First Amendment, due process, and the Communications Decency Act. As of this writing, the defamatory reviews remain in Hassell’s Yelp profile, perpetually causing her harm unless the California Supreme Court upholds the lower courts’ rulings. First Amendment
