5 Σεπ 2020 · Valve cover gasket was leaking about a year ago on my 2001 5S-FE and I had that replaced, at about 148K. However, there appears to still be a minor leak from near the front passenger wheel area. I suspect it is one of the oil pump seals/gaskets, given how common that is on this engine.
14 Νοε 2004 · Step Eleven: Replace seal with new one. Place new rubber seal in grove using some engine oil to hold the seal in place. Step Twelve: Place oil pump cover back in place without moving seal out of its grove. Use new Philips bolts from Toyota to replace the old ones.
I am looking for the o-ring replaced when I replace my oil pump assembly. It is normally replaced with the following parts at same time: front crankshaft/oil pump seal (90311-40022) and strainer gasket (15147-62020).
23 Οκτ 2018 · Replace the oil pump if you like or leave it. I replaced mine since it had 260 plus on the odo. When replacing the shaft seal there are some very important things to remember.

18 Σεπ 2020 · The oil pump seal was a bit leaking, and after removing the oil pump I found the previous job from ~10 years ago had used the spaghetti rubber gasket and also smeared permatex grey around the seal. See pictures below.
31 Μαρ 2021 · I thought maybe the oil pump O ring had come loose, as they'll do, but I stuck it in place with some RTV when I put it all back together. The pump gasket looked great. The leak is actually coming from BEHIND the oil pump, between the block and the oil pump housing.
