14 Νοε 2004 · Step Eleven: Replace seal with new one. Place new rubber seal in grove using some engine oil to hold the seal in place. Step Twelve: Place oil pump cover back in place without moving seal out of its grove. Use new Philips bolts from Toyota to replace the old ones.
3 Φεβ 2014 · If I understand your post correctly, you only need to get to the O-ring and crankshaft front oil seal. I *think* you can do that without all the removal hassles. Unfortunately, your dad is right about needing to remove some stuff to get sufficient clearance to use the impact wrench in that location.
2 Μαρ 2020 · Remove the timing belt pulley, and carefully scrape the old o-ring off the outer assemble and main pump body. use some brake cleaner to clean off the old oil. pay close attention to clean out this little oil drain hole near where the shaft seal was.
28 Μαρ 2007 · I have replaced the crankshaft seal and am going to replace the oil pump seal. It looks like all of that is one piece on the engine, but with your pictures it shows 2 pieces. I just want to make sure I didn't mess up and replace the crank seal too early in the process.
23 Οκτ 2018 · Replace the oil pump if you like or leave it. I replaced mine since it had 260 plus on the odo. When replacing the shaft seal there are some very important things to remember. First is not to mar the outside of the housing. This will cause you to need a new oil pump cover.

18 Σεπ 2020 · On a critical job like that which takes a lot of work to do (and redo), I use only the the manufacturer’s specified product (Toyota FPG?) or a well known identical substitute such as Honda Ultra Flange II or Permatex Great Stuff. I’ve replaced several oil pumps with those products and none have ever leaked afterwards.
