A study in Toyota’s pink coolant and some of the cooling system components that utilize this coolant including electric coolant pumps, EGR coolers and heat exchangers. In 2004, Toyota transitioned from red Long-Life Coolant (LLC) to the improved pink Super Long-Life Coolant (SLLC).
Toyota currently recommends SLLC for all Toyota cooling systems, both for the internal combustion engine and hybrid power electronics. Toyota super long life coolant offers the best protection Toyota can provide. Toyota anti freeze also helps protect your engine cooling system. This preserves parts such as radiator caps, water pumps, radiators, belts and helps prevent engine damage.
5 Φεβ 2016 · The Tacoma with 1GRFE V6 engine uses Toyota's long life coolant. Recommended replacement schedule is first at 100K miles then subsequent changes at 60K miles. At the rate I'm driving the coolant will be over 10 years old by 100K miles.
19 Ιουλ 2016 · Flushing is recommended because not all coolants are compatible and mixing can result in gelling. GM's DexCool is a very similar formulation to Toyota SLLC, but it gained the reputation as "DeathCool" because of compatibility issues.
22 Ιουλ 2016 · I've been told by several that TLL coolant is detrimental to the water pump seals. A good friend of mine has been a Toyota Master Mechanic for some time. His theory is the TLL collant is one of the reason that water pump replacement is so common in Toyota vehicles.
