There is currently one recognized SRO, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), that operates as a successor to the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) and the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (the MFDA).

The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO; Organisme canadien de réglementation des investissements or OCRI in French) is a non-profit, national self-regulatory organization (SRO).

Canada’s provincial and territorial securities regulators recognized the New Self-Regulatory Organization of Canada (New SRO) and approved the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF), effective January 1, 2023.
