This study aimed to explore the effect of authentic and traditional assessment on students’ performance in the field of health and educational sciences. Both qualitative and quantitative research designs were used in this study.
A comparison of authentic assessment and conventional assessment reveals that different purposes are served, as evidenced by the nature of the assessment and item response format. Examples of both types of assessments are included.
