21 Δεκ 2023 · The present study sought to investigate how VET managers in South Africa perceive three different types of mentoring – individual, peer group and expert-based key performance area (KPA) mentoring – during a part-time professional leadership development programme.

ABSTRACT. The study investigates the interrelationships between teaching practice experience and the training of traditional healers amongst the Batlokwa and Bakwena communities in Madikwe, the North West Province in South Africa.
The present article examines the effectiveness of mentoring and teaching practice experiences of student teachers at a South African university who completed their practical training at township schools. These schools are typically under-resourced, overcrowded and situated in socio-economically disadvantaged areas.
The traditional approach to mentoring targets specific groups within the organisation, such as graduate trainees, historically disadvantaged groups (Africans, Coloureds, Indians and women), new employees or fast track management candidates (Blake Beard, 2001; Clutterbuck, 2001; Gunn, 1995; Klasen & Clutterbuck, 2002; Samier, 2000;
