24 Μαρ 2023 · This document defines properties of trapezoids and isosceles trapezoids. It provides examples of using these properties to solve problems. A trapezoid has one pair of parallel sides called bases and two nonparallel sides called legs. An isosceles trapezoid has congruent legs.
GOAL 1 USING PROPERTIES OF TRAPEZOIDS. A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides. The parallel sides are the bases. A trapezoid has two pairs of base angles. For instance, in trapezoid ABCD, TMD and TMC are one pair of base angles. The other pair is TMA and TMB.
Properties. Property #1) The angles on the same side of a leg are called adjacent angles and are supplementary ( more ) Property #2) Area of a Trapezoid = Area = height ⋅(sum bases 2) ( more ) Property #3) Trapezoids have a midsegment which connects the mipoints of the legs ( more )
Definition of Trapezoid. A trapezoid is a four-sided closed 2D figure which has an area and its perimeter. Two sides of the shape are parallel to each other and they are termed as the bases of the trapezoid. The non-parallel sides are known as the legs or lateral sides of a trapezoid.
