To be eligible to enter Canada, fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents must have received the full series of a vaccine - or combination of vaccines - accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days prior to entering Canada.
When travelling outside Canada, you may be at risk for a number of vaccine preventable illnesses. You should consult a health care provider or visit a travel health clinic preferably six weeks before you travel.
All eligible travellers should ideally complete a COVID-19 vaccine series in Canada, along with any additional recommended doses (boosters), at least 14 days before travelling. The COVID-19 vaccines used in Canada are effective at preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19.
