Patients within the Clinical haematology department frequently present with hypomagnesaemia and almost all patients will require magnesium replacement in the immediate post-transplant period and on-going magnesium replacement may be necessary for several weeks afterwards.
26 Νοε 2012 · Mild asymptomatic hypomagnesemia may be replenished by a diet rich in magnesium. Patients with symptomatic hypomagnesemia require intravenous magnesium treatment, and oral replacement should be reserved for asymptomatic patients. Box 1 lists the key teaching points of this article.
