25 Σεπ 2023 · The prevalence, clinical presentation, and management of supraventricular arrhythmias during pregnancy will be reviewed. Electrocardiographic characteristics of supraventricular arrhythmias, as well as issues relating to conduction disorders, ventricular arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest during pregnancy, are discussed separately.
Transplacental treatment with digoxin, sotalol, and flecainide is effective in 89.8% of fetal cases with persistent SVT, with the resolution of fetal hydrops in 75% of cases.
Management of SVT for the duration of pregnancy depends on the frequency of episodes and their hemodynamic impact, and in many cases conservative management is appropriate.
