On Truity, I most always get 8w7 as my top result, with 5 and 6 as close runner ups. On the official Enneagram Institute test (work paid for it :) ) I got 5 as my top result, with 7, 9, 6, and 8 all within 4 points of my top score (21). On Eclectic Energies, I got 6 as my top score, with 5, 9, 7, 1, and 8 within 1.7 points of my top score (7.7).
Always either 5 or 4 first and then followed by 1, 8, and 7, and then 9, 6 and 3, and then 2 dead last. If you get a top result you don't agree with, one possibility might be a case of just not understanding the questions- maybe some tests can be too ambiguous at times.
Here are some suggestions on how to interpret your Enneagram test results. For most people, it’s clear what your basic type is. If your highest score is much higher (3-4 points or more) than the rest of your scores, this is most likely your basic personality type.
I saw a user on Quora who was saying they were a Five while their truity result they had shared on Quora clearly stated they were an 8. I was like: wtf?!
