  1. Is there some scam going on? I feel like every town has one or more tiny, one-location, independent car dealers who sell very high-end cars (e.g. Porsches, AMGs, Aston Martins, Range Rovers, Maseratis, high-end BMWs, sometimes even Ferraris, etc). Usually they are extremely shady looking, often located in sketchier parts of town, and their cars ...

  2. Is DealerRater a reasonable indicator of a dealership's reputation? For example I'm considering buying a car from a dealer that has 2.5/5 stars from 292 reviews. I think that is pretty worrying no? Are there other ways to determine a reputable dealer other than asking friends?

  6. My experience with AutoNation has been terrible and they have dealers across the U.S. I would avoid them. Service was much worse than the car purchase. I could be wrong, but I think Cars.com has a good dealer rating system.

  7. I’m not reading reviews on BBB in order to make decisions. I simply use BBB for dispute resolution. Sure, there are more “nuclear” options, but why would I start there versus a simple and effective BBB complaint? I’ve left plenty of Google reviews and the only outcome that has yielded is a defensive response from the business.
