Sabancı Central Mosque is built on the intersection of the main arteries, railway lines and roads that connect Adana to the surrounding cities and towns, has almost become the symbol of the city with its high minarets visible from almost anywhere in the city.
The Great Mosque of Adana (Turkish: Adana Ulu Camii), also known as the Ramazanoglu Mosque (Turkish: Ramazanoğlu Camii), is a 16th-century mosque in Adana, Turkey. It forms part of a complex (külliye) that includes a madrasah and a mausoleum (türbe). The complex is on Kızılay Street, next to the Ramazanoğlu Hall.
The largest mosque between İstanbul and Saudi Arabia, it was built by the late industrial magnate Sakıp Sabancı (1933–2004), a philanthropist and founder of the second-richest family dynasty in Turkey, and is covered top to tail in marble and gold leaf.
8 Μαΐ 2020 · Opened to service in 1998, the mosque was built on an area of 52600 square meters. In the mosque, which became the symbol of Adana, 28500 people can worship at the same time.
29 Μαΐ 2024 · Turkey’s second biggest Mosque, the Sabancı Central Mosque (Camii), has been welcoming visitors since 1998. The mosque is located in the Merkez (central) Park, Adana’s biggest park, and lies along the Seyhan River.
Sabancı Merkez (Central) Mosque, whose construction was completed in 1998, has been the symbol of Adana since then. It remained the largest mosque in Turkey until the Çamlıca Mosque was opened for worship in 2019.
The mosque is located in a huge and lovely park next to the Seyhan river in Adana. it is a very big and impressive building from the outside and inside is just beautiful. We visited outside prayer times and could go in and scarves are provided for women.
